HOW WE PRICE

# REAL PARTS. REAL PRICE TAGS.

Every good flip starts with knowing what’s inside. We read the rig, match its core components to our price sheet, and show you the seller prices behind the numbers.

## Read the rig.

The seller’s description and photos help us identify the GPU, CPU, motherboard, RAM, and storage. Those five categories make up the parts value.

## Match the sheet.

Our indexed prices come from real eBay listings, used-parts sellers, and new-component retailers. Each source keeps its price, condition, and original link.

## Find the gap.

Add the five parts values, then subtract the PC’s asking price. A positive gap makes it a unicorn: a lead worth taking a closer look at.

THE PRICE SHEET

## ONE RULE. EVERY INDEXED PART.

Used asking prices and adjusted new prices. One average across all saved sources.

**100%**

### Used asking prices

Use each stored used listing’s asking price at face value.

**75%**

### New retail prices

Count each new price at three quarters of retail to reflect buying used.

**$5**

### Round the average

Average all those adjusted source prices, then round to the nearest $5.

### Cap at new

The result never exceeds the cheapest new source in our sheet, when available.

### Clear about what we know.

A recognized part outside our sheet gets a labeled appraisal estimate. Unidentified parts contribute $0. Cases, power supplies, cooling, peripherals, and labor are outside the five-part total.

### The gap is your starting point.

Parts value minus asking price is potential gross margin. What you keep depends on achievable resale prices, condition, selling fees, shipping, travel, repairs, and your time.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

## A NATIONAL OPPORTUNITY. A CALCULATION YOU CAN FOLLOW.

Our **$59k** daily U.S. margin potential projects the opportunity beyond the markets we’ve searched. We use listings with sellers in Texas and Washington from four posting dates: August 28–30 and September 7, 2026, valued with our current saved appraisals.

**$6,809** average captured margin per posting day Texas + Washington

 ×

**8.6** U.S. population multiplier

 ≈

**$59k** national daily margin potential

### See the calculation and its assumptions

The four captured TX + WA margin totals are $8,863, $10,777, $3,149, and $4,446. Their daily average is $6,808.75. Texas and Washington together have about 39.7 million residents against 341.8 million nationally: an 8.607× multiplier. That gives $58,605, rounded to $59k.

The same sample contains 205 unicorns across those four posting dates. Scaling the daily average gives about 441 nationally, rounded to 440. The pooled average gap is $132.85, rounded to $130. Each Facebook listing ID is counted once.

This assumes other states have similar opportunity per resident. Coverage is incomplete, including a partial August 30 and a single evening capture on September 7. We have not completed a nationwide scrape or measured a typical national day. These figures describe projected gross opportunity, not verified nationwide listing counts or a guaranteed daily minimum.
