What is RigFlip?
RigFlip is a gaming PC deal-discovery project for people who buy, test, and resell computers. It compares Facebook Marketplace asking prices with estimated values for five core components, helping you spot PCs that may be worth a closer look.
What makes a PC a unicorn?
A unicorn has a positive parts gap: the estimated total for its GPU, CPU, motherboard, RAM, and storage exceeds the seller’s asking price. The term describes an appraisal result, not guaranteed resale profit.
Where do the parts prices come from?
Our price sheet records asking prices from eBay sellers, used-parts marketplaces, and retailers selling new components. Every saved source includes its price, condition, and original URL. These are asking prices, not verified completed-sale prices. Inspect an example with all eight sources.
How do you combine new and used prices?
We use each used asking price at 100% and each new price at 75%. We average all adjusted source prices, round to the nearest $5, and cap the result at the cheapest new source when one is available.
Does the green number include my costs?
No. The green number is the estimated five-part value minus the seller’s asking price. It excludes transaction fees, shipping, travel, repairs, and labor. Resale prices, hardware condition, and those costs determine what you keep.
Where does the $59k daily U.S. number come from?
It is a population-scaled projection from captured Texas and Washington listings across four posting dates. The same sample projects roughly 440 unicorns per day and a $130 average gap. Coverage is incomplete, and we have not completed a nationwide scrape or established a national daily minimum. Read the calculation and assumptions.
Are the listings in the demo available to buy?
The demo uses eight archived listings from August 2026. They are examples of the appraisal workflow, not a live availability feed. An original seller link may be stale or require a Facebook account.
Can I subscribe or receive live alerts?
Not yet. This is the public marketing site with an interactive preview. Membership and alert settings show the planned experience; they do not collect payments or send messages. See the planned membership.
Do I buy the PC through RigFlip?
No. You contact the seller and arrange the transaction directly. RigFlip does not own, reserve, inspect, or guarantee the listed computers.
Is RigFlip affiliated with Facebook or eBay?
No. RigFlip is independent of Meta, Facebook, eBay, and the retailers referenced in its price sheet.
