1. Start with the whole rig.
A vague title can hide a useful GPU. A good-looking case can hide old hardware. RigFlip reads a seller’s description and photos to identify the parts that matter: the GPU, CPU, motherboard, RAM, and storage.

2. Put a price on the parts.
We match identified components to our price sheet. It records real asking prices from eBay sellers, used-parts marketplaces, and new-component retailers. You can inspect source links instead of taking a number on faith.
Used prices count at 100%; new prices count at 75%. We average the adjusted prices, round to the nearest $5, and cap the result at the cheapest new source where available. See the complete pricing method.
3. Spot the unicorn.
A unicorn is a PC whose asking price is lower than our estimated five-part total. Subtract the asking price from that total to get the parts gap.
For example, an archived RTX 3060 rig was listed for $600. Its five core parts added up to $845 in our saved appraisal, leaving a $245 gap. That is a lead to investigate, before resale costs and condition checks.
4. Make your own call.
Inspect the breakdown, check the original listing, and contact the seller directly on Marketplace. You handle the purchase, testing, and resale. RigFlip does not reserve inventory or act as the seller.
Check the exact component models and capacities, ask to see the PC running, and account for fees, travel, shipping, repairs, and your time. The parts gap is an appraisal comparison; the eventual resale determines what you keep.
